School Project and Additional Classrooms - Robert Mulumbi
Type of Project: Loan
Request: Loan to build cafeteria at Christian school, Second Loan for two classrooms
Location(s): Soy, Kenya, Africa
Recipient: Robert Mulumbi
Robert Mulumbi serves as the director of World In Need in Kenya, Africa where he ministers to three local congregations in the Rift Valley of western Kenya. He travels throughout Kenya and neighboring countries ministering largely to Muslims, lecturing, counseling, preaching, and training others to become lay pastors.
In 2009, Robert was instrumental in opening the Nancy George Academy which serves as a private Christian elementary school for children in the lower grade levels. Since 2009 the demands of the Academy have grown. It is Robert’s desire to meet the needs of the children at the Academy so they can spread the gospel as they grow and mature in the Christian faith. In 2013, Robert requested a loan from Trade Palms to assist in the completion of a cafeteria at the school. Since that time, Robert has successfully paid off this loan and continues to partner with Trade Palms in other projects at the Academy.
After his first loan, the school continued to grow, nearly tripling in size since 2014. The need for additional classrooms at the Academy was at hand. Robert requested a new loan from Trade Palms for the funds to build two classrooms.
From the time the school was started in 2009, more children and parents have come to know and love the Lord in this institution like never before. The children do community service projects in the surrounding neighborhoods twice per term. This has never been done before and the care and outreach to the community has led to a positive appeal to other churches nearby.
