Robert Mulumbi, Missionary

Type of Project: Financial Management
Request: Donation Management
Location(s): Soy, Kenya, Africa
Recipient: Robert Mulumbi

Robert Mulumbi serves as the director of World In Need in Kenya, Africa where he ministers to three local congregations in the Rift Valley of western Kenya.  He travels throughout Kenya and neighboring countries ministering largely to Muslims, lecturing, counseling, preaching and training others to become lay pastors.

Through World In Need (WIN), Robert is in charge of developing and constructing the Newbigin Training Centre which is housed adjacent to his own private property in Soy.  Once the center is completed, lay leaders from throughout the region will receive Biblical training for ministry primarily to Muslims.  Additionally, this education center is designed to provide skill training in agriculture for the missionaries-in-training so they can become self supporting.  Robert will put to use his degree in agriculture to teach and train the students there while his wife, Alice, will serve as director of the center.

An arm of the center, the Nancy George Academy, opened on January 5, 2009.  The academy serves as a private Christian elementary school for children in the lower grade levels.  WIN’s Kenyan orphanage sponsorship program is also under the direction of Robert and his wife.

Robert oversees the operation of the Ebenezer Posho Mill, a project funded by Trade Palms, which houses a corn milling machine for grinding maize meal in Soy.  Proceeds from the operation are being used to provide income for Robert’s ministry.

Trade Palms partners with Robert by providing management of his U.S. financial donation support.  Robert also receives financial support from several other countries, which is managed through another organization.
